Gavin Construction falls into admin
Gavin Construction has appointed administrators to see if it can continue trading, after the company ran into issues on a project in the state's north-west.
Sean Gavin is responsible for the new direction taken the acclaimed family-operated construction business, Gavin Construction. His decision to move the business into the commercial, design and construct sector has proved successful. In 1996 Mr Gavin decided on another change, opting to take the business into what he believed was a growth area in the commercial and industrial sector. He later decided to cut off the company’s residential section, a major money earner, in order to make the commercial sector of the business viable. It was a tough, yet ultimately good, decision. The company has since found new success in the design and construct field. Gavin Construction won the 2002 MBA Excellence in Construction, was a 2002 Family Business Awards finalist and in 2003 and 2005 won a Business News 40under40 Award.
