John Gillam held several roles at Wesfarmers during his 20-year executive tenure. He commenced in a commercial role in business development, then became chief financial officer of Bunnings, followed by company secretary of Wesfarmers and managing director of CSBP. Mr Gillam was appointed managing director of the Home Improvement division in mid 2004 and subsequently became chair of Officeworks in 2007. He stepped down as managing director of the Bunnings group in 2016 and continues to support the Bunnings business in an advisory role and as chair of the Bunnings Group Council.
In 2003, Mr Gillam won a Business News 40under40 Award.
