At the age of 27 and after battling illness, Nikki Griffiths OAM moved to the South West and established Glass House Graphic Design Studio, an independent graphic design firm. The business, which she runs with her husband, is a successful design studio in Western Australia that has won numerous small business awards.
In 2002 Ms Griffiths was selected as a Rotary team member to go on a six-week business exchange to Canada. During the exchange she spent time with other graphic design, marketing and advertising companies and was able to compare the experience to the Australian market.
Ms Griffiths’ passion for helping others to start their own business has led to her co-owning and managing three other small businesses: Glass House Gifts (a division of her own company producing individually branded corporate gifts); Professional Bodystyle (a personal fitness business established with a local fitness trainer); and OG Australia (a partnership with a young woman who has invented a breast pain relief product).
She mentors a number of business owners, both privately and through the Leschenault Business Enterprises Business Mentor program. She also provides work experience for high school leavers at Glass House Studio, and has provided support, expertise and sponsorship to local community organisations, including the Cape Naturaliste Tourism Association and the Busselton Chamber of Commerce.
Ms Griffiths has been a finalist in the Telstra Business Women’s Awards and was a Business News 40under40 winner in 2003 and 2005. In 2023, she was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia for service to local business, and to the community.
