HBF records $39m profit
HBF achieved a net positive result in the previous financial year, despite declining investment returns contributing to a more than halving of its year-on-year profitability.
HBF is WA’s leading health insurer and one of the nation’s last major not-for-profit health funds. The fund has more than one million members and, in addition to health insurance, offers car, travel, home and life insurance services.
HBF merged with its subsidiary fund HealthGuard Health Benefits Fund Ltd (known as GMF to members) in June 2015. The two funds’ combined membership elevated HBF to be Australia’s fourth largest insurer.
