St John of God Health Care is a health care provider with private hospitals, home nursing, pathology and social outreach and advocacy services throughout Australia, New Zealand, and the wider Asia Pacific region.
As a Catholic not-for-profit group, it returns all profits to the communities it serves by updating and expanding its facilities and technology; expanding existing services and developing and acquiring new services; and providing social outreach and advocacy services to people experiencing disadvantage to improve health and wellbeing.
St John of God Health Care's governance structure is two-tiered, comprising trustees and a board. The trustees have canonical responsibility for St John of God Health Care and exercise a range of authorities, including the appointment and evaluation of board members and ensuring that our ministry remains faithful to its role within the Catholic Church. Board members are accountable to the trustees for the organisation’s ongoing stewardship and strategic development.
