Tony Chong is a corporate partner, corporate M&A and tax lawyer with extensive finance, fundraising, project, and commercial experience.
He has been on boards and is chair of various private and ASX-listed entities and non-profit organisations. Mr Chong is a recognised leader in the community and has been a mentor to various community leaders under the WA Office of Multicultural Affairs board diversification mentor program.
Mr Chong has been head of the Asia Desk Australia and managing partner of international law firm Squire Patton Boggs' Perth office since August 2018. Prior to that, he spent over 8 years at Lavan Legal where he was appointed group leader of its corporate services division within 2 years. The quick appointment reflects the steep learning curve he experienced during his time at Griffin Energy, where he oversaw the construction of the Emu Downs wind farm and the Bluewaters coal fired power station. In 2008, Mr Chong led a team to raise and syndicate more than $1.1 billion worldwide for the Bluewaters project.
