Fortescue, originally known as Fortescue Metals Group, is an ASX company led by its founder, executive chair and major shareholder Andrew Forrest.
Its core business is iron ore mining and exports, with the company often referred to as the 'third force' in iron ore. Since 2020 it has been increasingly focused on building its green energy arm.
In November 2023, to mark its 20th anniversary, the company rebranded from Fortescue Metals Group to Fortescue, to reflect the diversification of its operations as an integrated green technology, energy and metals company.
