He may be best known for his role on the ABC’s Gardening Australia, but Professor Josh Byrne has combined his green thumb with astute business acumen to develop a successful, award-winning business.
Josh Byrne and Associates (JBA) is a multi-award winning landscape design, environmental consultancy and communications company. Based in Fremantle, it focuses on landscape architecture, environmental engineering and sustainability, community engagement and communications, primarily servicing the commercial and civic sectors. Founded by Prof Byrne in 2006, JBA is highly regarded for its commitment to projects that champion positive environmental and community outcomes. Flagship projects include Perth Cultural Centre, Onslow Community Garden and The Grove Library and Community Centre. JBA has become a bespoke organisation, creating its own niche in the market and experiencing consistent growth.
Prof Byrne uses his profile to help champion a number of important sustainability causes through ambassadorial and patronage roles for organisations such as Living Smart, Conservation Council of WA, Smart Approved WaterMark and Nature Play WA.
Prof Byrne is the author of two books, numerous articles and research papers. He gives regular lectures at Murdoch University on urban water management and urban agriculture, and is an extension program course presenter at the University of WA.
