WHEN Darren Kam realised halfway through a job interview that he wasn’t qualified for the position, he didn’t give up, but instead pitched an opportunity to his prospective employer.
Impressed with his positive, the employer hired Mr Kam and gave him the green light to develop a new section for the business.
Mr Kam said he used this same ‘can-do’ attitude to launch Constructive Media.
Focusing on clients in the property, mining, oil and gas, engineering, medical, and visual effects industries, Constructive Media combines graphic design, web design, 3D modeling and animation to create high-impact visual presentations.
Mr Kam said Constructive Media typically took the time to fully understand its clients’ business needs before using technologies to come up with a results-based solution.
Born and bred in Western Australia, Mr Kam likes to support the local market by hiring staff from WA and using local suppliers such as trade printers, sign writers, journalists, photographers and film crew.
Constructive Media has also established an internship program to identify and develop emerging local talent.
Mr Kam helped set up charity Cupcakes for Cancer in 2012, which raised $42,000. He is also supports Parkinson’s WA’s Unity Walk and a number of other charity events.
