DANNY Matic started Matic Transport in 2002 with a single prime mover. Today, the business runs a fleet of 50 prime movers and more than 200 trailing pieces of equipment.
The business originally focused on pneumatic tanker operations but soon branched into heavy haulage, general freight and earth moving, both in metropolitan and regional Western Australia.
The business has also developed two additional divisions – Matic Heavy Haulage and Matic Logistics.
Mr Matic sets the bar high when it comes to his team’s performance, encouraging his staff to work as a team and placing an emphasis on safety both on and off the road.
His next business move is to venture into full supply-chain services, including full port-to-store and store-to-port logistic solutions. The business is also busy with the many construction projects around Perth.
Mr Matic credits his current success to wife, Katia, who has been an integral part of the business development, and the combination of hard work and strategy.
When he’s not busy with trucks, Mr Matic enjoys singing in native language, Bosnian, and has released four studio-produced CDs.
He’s also involved in the local Croatian community, while Matic Transport sponsors numerous local cricket, soccer and football clubs.
