State Government DepartmentsThe Waste Authority is a statutory body established under the Waste Avoidance and Resource Recovery Act 2007. The Waste Authority works with local government, regional councils, stakeholder groups, the waste management sector and the community to promote understanding of resource recovery.
The Department of Water and Environmental Regulation provides services to the Waste Authority to enable it to perform its functions.
