UWA researcher gets national funding
University of Western Australia researcher Ryan Lister is one of three winners of the 2014 Sylvia and Charles Viertel Charitable Foundation Senior Medical Research Fellowship.
Dr Ryan Lister has spent the past few years working on epigenetics to determine how to turn genes on and off. The research benefits not only medicine, but also agriculture. Ryan is a project leader at the ARC Centre for Excellence in Plant Energy Biology and leads epigenetics genomics research teams. His work on human epigenome mapping was rated by Time magazine as the second most important scientific discovery of 2009. Dr Lister is a finalist in the Scientist of the Year award at the 2020 Premier’s Science Awards.
