Five Western Australian tourism businesses have received gold medals at the recent 2019 Australian Tourism Awards ceremony, with recognition for best accommodation and food tourism excellence among the winning categories.

Sneakers & Jeans, The Royal, and Mary Street Bakery are among 40 local hospitality businesses backing a new campaign, encouraging Western Australians to explore the city as it prepares to move into phase four of lifting coronavirus restrictions.

WA’s emergence from a lengthy period of full border lockdowns was quickly followed by several initiatives to bolster the state’s appeal as a world-class tourism destination.
