Growing up in the slums of Cape Town taught Francois Witbooi that only hard work can make you succeed. Initially trained as a concert pianist in South Africa, he was awarded the prestigious Fulbright scholarship and graduated from Columbia University in New York with a Masters in Arts and Media management.
Mr Witbooi has since undertaken various executive positions on 4 different continents. He worked in micro enterprise development in a number of communities across regional and remote Western Australia, looking to secure inclusion into the real economy for many of Australia’s most vulnerable people.
In 2015 Mr Witbooi co-founded Redspear Safety, the first aboriginal-owned engineering lifting and safety business in Australia.
He is a 2017 WA Business 40under40 winner.
