Chris Colbourne was responsible for an operating budget of $150 million and a workforce of 350 employees and 70 contractors. By implementing the Lean Process which is based on the renowned Toyota Production Process. Lean eliminates waste, including wasted time, effort, materials or money. In his current role, as General Manager – Operations, Chris is managing the $1 billion construction of the Hope Downs mine, which when complete will produce 32 million tonnes of iron ore and employ 330 people.
