At the age of 23, Mr Jones was confronted with the sudden, unexpected loss of his father and uncle, respectively managing director and manager of family business, Boucher Jones & Company. He was forced to choose between taking over the business or selling up, and with great courage chose to continue the plumbing and renovating operation. Mr Jones then embarked on the hardest 12 months of his life and the knowledge he gained in this period laid the foundation for his life in business.
His companies now provide hot water and trade services, including plumbing and gas fitting, to domestic and commercial markets. Alinta Assist is the only company in Australia with the exclusive rights to carry out all the trade services, including but not limited to plumbing, gas fitting, heating and hot water for major utility, Alinta Gas. Business officially started in October 2005 and has since become the largest hot water contractor in the country. Boucher Jones & Company has been service agents in Perth for Dux manufacturing (the biggest Australian-owned hot water company in the country) for over 18 years, and the company has won numerous industry awards for customer service.
Mr Jones has been the vice president of the Master Plumbers and Gas Fitters Association, guiding future policy and direction for the industry.
