Brad Giles

BRAD Giles has gone from the ground up, from planting trees to growing his own electrical and communications cabling businesses. His two companies provide a complete office infrastructure package, from electrical and communications cabling through to VoIP telephone systems, computers, servers and wireless networking.

Mr Giles started Total Cabling Solutions in 1999 with only $1,000 as capital and “risked it all” to pursue an opportunity. The electrician had long been an entrepreneur, having run his own cleaning business at age 16 followed by the creation of his own tree nursery business at 17, specialising in farm re-vegetation.

In 2002, with no industry experience or exposure, he identified an opportunity to sell electrical and data cabling with telephone and computer systems. Noting the emergence of Voice over IP, he decided made to integrate all into one complete solution. Today, Exabit has undertaken major voice and IT installations for clients in the mining, gambling, education, government and professional services sectors.
