Gavin Burnett, a mobile web and internet entrepreneur, has over 20 years of experience in technology as an entrepreneur and a senior executive of a large public-listed Australian media organisation.
Mr Burnett is the founder and chief executive of tech companies Moboom and Locafy. Prior to that, he was the state general manager of a large national recruitment firm BigRedSky where he was involved in developing and commercialising an e-recruitment system and negotiated an Asia Pacific distribution agreement with TMP Advertising and Communications to market and sell the BigRedSky product. In 2002, BigRedSky merged with Tusk Technology to create Empired, where Mr Burnett was executive director until December 2005.
Mr Burnett was an Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Finalist (Young category) in 2003 and 2004, and a Business News 40under40 winner in 2004.
