Fay Behemia

Fay Bahemia left the comfort of a large multinational pharmaceutical company to join five-employee Chemeq as its first and only microbiologist in 2000. Chemeq is a listed WA research-based pharmaceutical company that has developed a unique replacement for antibiotics used in animal health. When Ms Bahemia joined Chemeq she transformed an empty room into a functioning microbiology laboratory and took on roles normally left to support staff.

Moving from principal microbiologist to corporate regulatory affairs manager, her role includes ensuring all research, clinical, toxicological, efficacy and safety data are consistent and compliant with international regulatory standards.
