Samantha Hall is a strong advocate for putting science, data, and research into practice in the real world, in order to achieve better outcomes.
A period of overseas work, in Thailand, exposed Dr Hall to a level of environmental degradation and inequality she had not seen in Australia, prompting her to study environmental science. She qualified with a masters degree and PhD in sustainable cities and buildings, and her post doctorate was on evidence-based decision-making for healthier, sustainable buildings.
Dr Hall’s work at Spaces Alive brings together a strong scientific background that is driven by empathy for people and their needs. She was a co-founder and director of SimplyCarbon. In January 2020, she established Campus Intuition which is a higher education design research consultancy.
