Physiotherapist Dayna Pool founded The Healthy Strides Foundation in 2017 after identifying a gap between research and community therapy provision in Western Australia. The team provides intensive therapy and rehabilitation programs for children and young adults with neurological conditions. The organisation aims to bring Dr Pool’s research and its findings on muscle electrical stimulation to the broader community. Dr Pool was also part of the formation of Perth’s first intensive therapy unit (iRehab) at Princess Margaret Hospital, which she oversaw as both coordinator and clinical lead. She also established Therapists Aboard, a not-for-profit venture providing therapy to developing countries.
