Dr Katharine Giles is the managing director and chief executive of OncoRes Medical, a Perth-based company focused on improving the accuracy of breast cancer surgery.
Dr Giles is a venture partner at Brandon Capital Partners, a venture capital firm devoted to developing and supporting Australian life sciences businesses, a director of Respirion Pharmaceuticals and a member of the Curtin Commercialisation Advisory Board. She joined Brandon Capital Partners in 2012, before which she was an investment manager with Perth-based Stoneridge Ventures, a fund manager specialising in seed-to-early stage technology investment.
In addition to her investment experience, Dr Giles also has startup experience in medical apps, diagnostics and fitness devices. She still practices as a medical doctor, mainly within the surgical field.
In August 2023, Dr Giles was appointed to the federal government’s newly-created National Reconstruction Fund Board which aims to boost Australian manufacturing capacity.
