Film institute to support gamers
The Film and Television Institute is forging the way for game developers in Western Australia, appointing Kate Raynes-Goldie as its first director of Interactive Programs.
Dr Kate Raynes-Goldie is a designer, speaker, certified LEGO Serious Play Facilitator and the creator of SUPERCONNECT®, a methodology that boosts human connection, creativity and curiosity and used by organisations like RSM, CPA and Murdoch University.
Dr Raynes-Goldie has a monthly innovation column in the Business News and is a regular media commentator, appearing in the Australian Financial Review, the Sydney Morning Herald, ELLE, The Globe and Mail (Canada), NPR (US) and on MTV.
She currently teaches at the School of Business and Governance at Murdoch University and has previously taught at the Curtin School of Business and the Canadian Film Centre's New Media Lab post-graduate program in Toronto. Dr Raynes-Goldie has also been a judge for the NASA Space Apps Challenge and Startup Weekend. She has spoken at numerous conferences around the world, including at TEDxPerth, SXSW (Austin) and NXNE (Toronto).
Dr Raynes-Goldie was named a Business News 40under40 winner, as well as the Australian Computer Society's Digital Disruptor Professional of the Year. Her work has been featured at the Toronto International Film Festival, the National Theatre in London and the new Western Australian Museum, as well as play festivals across the US and Europe.
She holds a PhD from Curtin University's Internet Studies Department, where she is also a past Senior Adjunct Research Fellow.
