Sandrine Leven and her husband, Rizwan, are the founders of Zubias Threading, which introduced the eyebrow shaping technique to Australia. Originally from France, Ms Leven worked as a French teacher before opening the threading business. Mrs Leven and her husband worked to open the first salon in 2008 at Fremantle’s E Shed Markets, working seven days a week and completing administration tasks at night. The profit from the first salon was used to secure the second and then the third outlet, with the pair now having opened 30 stores. Zubias Threading now employs 120 therapists and is expanding interstate, with its first store to open in Melbourne this year.
