Cooper diversifies into super market
Specialist taxation and business advisory firm, Cooper Partners, has expanded its self-managed superannuation fund expertise with the appointment of a new principal.

Jemma Sanderson is a director of Cooper Partners Financial Services, heading up their SMSF specialist services. She provides strategic advice on SMSFs, estate planning and wealth management to clients, as well as technical support to accounting, legal and financial planning groups. Ms Sanderson has over 13 years of experience in developing dynamic and tailored wealth management and protection strategies for high networth clients. She is one of Australia’s leading SMSF advisor and advises in all aspects of operating a SMSF including compliance with the complex rules surrounding SMSFs, contribution strategies, commencing pensions, ensuring the fund has maximised its after-tax returns, borrowing strategies, and succession of the SMSF. Her experience also includes developing business and estate succession plans, establishing appropriate structures to protect your personal and family wealth from being exposed to any unforeseen business event, and project managing family settlements. Prior to joining Cooper Partners in June 2008, Ms Sanderson worked for Grange Securities, and subsequently Lehman Brothers Australia, as a strategic planner for three and a half years, after working in a similar role at Goldman Sachs JBWere. She has a Bachelor of Commerce from UWA and is a Certified Financial Planner, a Specialist Member of the SMSF Association, Chartered Tax Adviser and Trusts and Estate Practitioner. Ms Sanderson is highly sought after as a presenter on superannuation and SMSFs across Australia for the Tax Institute, Institute of Chartered Accountants, CPA and SMSF Association. She is the author of the Tax Institute’s popular publication the SMSF Guide, now in its eighth edition. Ms Sanderson is also the author and convener of the Graduate Diploma in Applied Taxation Law Advanced Superannuation unit facilitated by the Tax Institute. In September 2017, she was named as the SMSF Adviser of the Year at the inaugural National Women in Finance awards. Cooper Partners Financial Services was also awarded WA’s SMSF Firm of the Year in November 2017. Ms Sanderson received the SMSF Association Chairman’s Award 2017 in February 2018.
