Adam Barnard left school in year 10 and was a soldier for 10 years, commencing in the Army reserve followed by full time service and a six month deployment to East Timor. He then worked as a backpacker tour guide, which ignited his interest in the tourism industry in 2001. Mr Barnard purchased his first coach in 2005 to establish ADAMS Coachlines, a supplier of buses and coaches for excursions, tours interstate or local transfers. After growing ADAMS to its current status as the largest bus tour operator in the state, Mr Barnard sold his stake in the company to Rottnest Fast Ferries. Mr Adams is now director of sales at Spinifex Brewing, and is also a spokesperson for the Australian Biome Project.
