Jess Karlsson has extensive experience and expertise in executive management of not-for-profit sector including individualised services in recreation, youth, children, indigenous and disability services.
Ms Karlsson moved from the Northern Territory to Western Australia after being appointed chief executive of Cahoots (formerly Kids' Camps) in September 2015. She left Cahoots in November 2021 following her appointment as chief executive of Scouts WA.
Past community engagement and volunteering activities included being a Rotary Club board member, event coordinator for nationally recognised community event, finalist for Territory Young Achiever Of The Year for two consecutive years, community coach and volunteer for a range of activities including delivery of disability recreation services.
Ms Karlsson has also actively advocated for charities by advocating and leading physical challenges in fundraising activities such as climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, abseiling down Central Park Perth, and cycling 500km to Uluru in one day.
