Hawkley Oil and Gas Limited, was an upstream company, engages in the exploration, exploitation, and production of oil and gas in the Dneiper-Donets basin, Ukraine. It owned a 100% interest in the Sorochynska project that is located to the east of Kiev in the Myrgorod district, Poltava region of Ukraine; and the Chernetska project, which is located to the north east of Kiev in the Talalayvkiy district, Chernigiv region of Ukraine.
Hawkley Oil & Gas Limited (Hawkley) made its debut on the ASX on 29 June 2010 after completing a reverse takeover. Following the sale of its Ukraine oil & gas assets, trading in the Company's shares was suspended on ASX on 11 May 2017.
On 24 October 2019, the Company announced that it had entered into an agreement to acquire an approximately 33% working interest and operatorship of an oil and gas project in Burke County, North Dakota, USA.. Shareholders approved the acquisition and an associated capital raising on 6 April 2020.
However on 4 June 2020, the Company decided to withdraw its prospectus and its application for readmission to the ASX. The decision was due to a number of factors including the withdrawal of support from a significant group of investors, the instability in financial markets, in paricular the oil and gas sector, and the short timeframe from ASX to complete the readmission process.
The Company was removed from the ASX Official List on 9 June 2020. However, at the time, Hawkley said it was still in discussions with another group regarding a potential new transaction to form the basis of a new ASX admission as an Initial Public Offering.
