Orocobre spikes on resource upgrade
Perth-based lithium play Orocobre's stock has jumped, after the company reported a fourfold increase in resources at its Olaroz lithium-potash project in Argentina.
Allkem was a global ASX-listed specialty lithium chemicals company with its headquarter in Buenos Aires and a corporate office in Brisbane.
Previously called Orocobre, it acquired Perth-based lithium miner Galaxy Resources in 2021, with the merged company changing its name to Allkem. Following the acquisition of Galaxy, its portfolio included lithium brine and borax operations in Argentina, a hard-rock lithium operation in Australia and a lithium hydroxide conversion facility in Japan.
Allkem was acquired by Arcadium Lithium in December 2023.
