Alex Losada-Calderon has more than 25 years’ experience working worldwide as a geologist, project manager and country general manager. Mr Losada-Calderon holds a PhD in Economic Geology and Geochemistry from Monash University in Australia and an Honours Degree in Geological Science from the Universidad Nacional del Sur, Argentina. He spent more than three years as the head of exploration for Southwestern Resources Corp, which accumulated substantial landholdings and operations in Southern Peru prior to being taken over by Hochchild Mining PLC in 2009. His experience ranges from greenfield discoveries through to feasibility studies and the development of major mining projects in Latin America, the Caribbean and China, primarily involving IOCG and porphyry deposits.
