WA-based Galaxy Resources operated as an integrated lithium mining, chemicals, and battery company in Australia. The company mined lithium pegmatite ore and processes it to produce a spodumene concentrate and tantalum by-product.
It owned the Mt Cattlin spodumene project located near Ravensthorpe in Western Australia; and held interest in the James Bay project, a spodumene pegmatite deposit located in Quebec, Canada.
Galaxy was acquired by Orocobre in August 2021.
