Magabala Books is a Broome-based indigenous publisher, and an independent Aboriginal Corporation. Magabala began as the publishing arm of the Kimberley Aboriginal Law and Culture Centre (KALACC), publishing its first book in 1987.
In March 1990 Magabala Books became an independent Aboriginal Corporation with the objective of restoring, preserving and maintaining Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures.
