Perth plays a second orchestra
Setting up a second symphony orchestra in Perth is ambitious but for a convivial pair like Bourby Webster and Annalisa Oxenburgh it is an obvious choice for the city.
The Perth Symphony Orchestra is Australia's newest symphony orchestra. The orchestra excites and engages a wide audience by presenting concerts that are hugely accessible in places and spaces not usually associated with symphony concerts.
Based in Western Australia, the orchestra is committed to providing orchestral entertainment of the highest standard, whilst bringing a vibrant, fresh and innovative approach to performances. The orchestra has an ambition to attract audiences that may not previously have wanted to see an orchestra in action.
By making concerts unique experiences; ensuring programs are highly accessible and full of pieces people recognise and love; and presenting concerts in settings less formal than traditional concert halls and cathedrals, the Perth Symphony Orchestra is committed to reaching every member of the public with the magic of the symphony.
