Changes to Willing Group’s $40 million Field Street development seen as minor by approval body.
Paul McQueen has been in specialist legal practice for over 25 years and is a recognised leader in the areas of town planning, environmental and land compensation law. He is admitted to practice as a barrister and solicitor in the Supreme Court of Western Australia and the High Court of Australia.
Mr McQueen is a counsel and partner in Lavan’s Planning, Environment and Land Compensation team. The nature of his practice involves providing both court representation and strategic advice concerning the acquisition and development of land in a WA context. He advises on all aspects of the approval and implementation of development and subdivision proposals, conducts compensation claims, planning and environmental appeals (to the State Administrative Tribunal and Office of the Appeals Convenor) and provides strategic advice and representation in Supreme Court Judicial Review proceedings related to all types of planning and environmental matters.
Mr McQueen has lectured in Planning Law at the University of Western Australia Law School. Since 1996, he has provided advice to the Western Australian State Government on environmental legislation. His industry involvement includes his appointment as honorary solicitor to the Planning Institute of Australia, chair of the UDIA EnviroDevelopment board of management, and his experience on the State Council of the UDIA.
Mr McQueen is a graduate of the University of Western Australia in Commerce and Law, and holds a Masters in Planning and Environmental Law.
