The final episode of the Business News Future Perth podcast is now available, looking at the future of the Western Australian economy.
The guests for this episode are Wesfarmers chief executive Rob Scott and PwC partner Justin Carroll.
Produced in conjunction with the Committee for Perth, and based around some of the research the independent think-tank has produced over the past 15 years, each episode will focus on a particular aspect of Perth’s future.
The first episode, which was released in October, looked at people's perceptions of Perth and considered ways in which they may be changed. Those involved in the conversation were Perth Lord Mayor Basil Zempilas, Perth Airport chief executive Kevin Brown and Ipsos Australia and New Zealand Global Reputation Centre director Sally Braidwood. The second episode considered issues around developments in the metropolitan area. The guests were Hames Sharley chairman and founder William Hames, Hassell director Peter Lee and Edith Cowan University vice-president, enterprise and development Sonia Mackay-Coghill. Episode 2
Episode 3 focused on the struggle to bring more women into leadership roles in business and government and featured business executive and gender equality advocate Diane Smith-Gander and Centre for Gender Equality in the Workplace managing director Terry Fitzsimmons. Episode 3
Episode 4 featured Housing and Local Government Minister John Carey and outgoing Infrastructure WA chair John Langoulant, who looked at issues surrounding Perth's transformation into a city of 3.5 million people. Episode 4
And last week's episode looked at ways in which Indigenous culture could be integrated and showcased in Western Australia, with WA Governor Kim Beazley and Noongar Elders Richard Walley and Colleen Hayward. Episode 5
