Schlam engineers a smoke-free workplace
A Western Australian engineering company is seeking to make its workplace a smoke-free venue for its 86 staff, going above the legal requirements set for employers.
Ryan Schlam entered the family business in 2001, following his tenure at a range of mining companies across Western Australia undertaking a variety of different roles. He took over from his father Barry as managing director of Schlam in 2013. In October 2020, Mr Schlam relinquished his role as chief executive and became executive officer of the board, allowing him to concentrate on efforts beyond the company's strategic growth plan.
