Greg Heylen
Greg Heylen has more than 30 years of experience in the mining, construction and infrastructure industry. Appointed CEO of UON in March 2021, Mr Heylen is responsible for the overall strategy, performance and profitability of the Perth-based energy solutions provider.
Mr Heylen was previously CEO of BGC Contracting, having held a number of senior positions within BGC Contracting during his 20-year tenure, including time as Civil Operations Manager and then General Manager – Civil. His overall experience includes the leadership and management of operations in civil construction, engineering, mining, energy, infrastructure and multi-discipline contracting.
Mr Heylen maintains a strong emphasis on health and safety, leadership, teamwork and client relationships.
He is a Fellow of Engineers Australia, and holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) degree and Executive Master of Business Administration degree.
He is a former member of the Executive Council of the Chamber of Minerals and Energy of Western Australia, and was Chair of its Occupational Safety and Health Standing Committee. Mr Heylen was also a director of the Australian Constructors Association, including time as a Mentor of the Safety Working Party.
