DIAB Engineering provides industrial maintenance and fabrication services to the mining industry and operates at multiple locations around Western Australia. In addition to two fabrication workshops in Western Australia, DIAB Engineering maintains staff and permanent mining maintenance services operations at remote mining sites.
Founded in 1970, in Capel, Western Australia, the name DIAB comes from the first letters of the founders’ names – David and Anne Payne; and Ian and Betty Shields. In 1976, DIAB Engineering relocated its primary maintenance and fabrication facility to the Geraldton area.
In 2016 DIAB became a subsidiary of BGC Contracting, Australia’s largest privately-owned mining and construction company. BGC Contracting is a leading player in the provision of diversified services across the resources, energy and infrastructure sectors. DIAB continues to operate with the same senior management team.
In December 2019, DIAB was acquired by NRW Holdings.
