Professor Silvester-Dean published more than 100 peer-reviewed research papers and generated millions of dollars in research income in her career, helping her in part be named among the top 2 per cent of academics listed in Stanford University’s global database of researchers.
Having moved from the UK in 2009, Professor Silvester-Dean previously studied at the University of Bristol and obtained her PhD from the University of Oxford.
