Andes and Metminco set to merge
ASX-listed Metminco and West Perth-based Andes Resources have agreed binding terms for a merger, which is supported by Andes’ cornerstone shareholder Sandfire Resources.
In August 2019 Metminco Ltd merged with Andes Resources Limited to form Los Cerros Limited and resulting in a dominant position within the Andes and Qunichia regions of the Mid-Cauca Gold belt.
Metminco was incorporated in May 2006 as a private company registered in Victoria, Australia. An exploration and mining company, Metminco focuses on exploration, development and the operation of mining projects within mineral provinces, primarily with copper and gold. As of 2018, the company's interests were in mineral fields located in Peru and Chile.
