1st July 2011 marked a significant milestone in the development of the region with the amalgamation of the City of Geraldton-Greenough and the Shire of Mullewa to form the City of Greater Geraldton.
The new entity has 56 localities and seven wards: Port, Hills, Chapman, Champion Bay, Tarcoola, Willcock, and Mullewa Wards.
