Tara French is a geologist with over 24 years of mining and exploration experience, predominantly in Western Australia. She has experience in project evaluation, resource estimation, open cut and underground mining across multiple commodities including, gold, nickel, and copper.
Ms French will become chief executive of Cazaly Resources in early July 2021 before transitioning to managing director following the successful completion of a 3-month handover period.
Ms French spent 14 years with Regis Resources, initially as an exploration manager in February 2007 before leading a large team as general manager of exploration in March 2018. She played a key role in the transition and growth of the company, contributed to the discovery of the 2Moz Garden Well gold deposit, and delivered 7Moz to resources and 6Moz to reserves.
Ms French had also held positions with Nickel Australia (now Azure Minerals), WMC at Central Norseman Gold Mines, Placer Dome and Normandy.
She has an honours degree in Economic Metalliferous Geology, and is a member of the Australian Institute of Geoscientists.
