Jan de Jager has been appointed chief financial officer and joint company secretary of AVZ Minerals. Mr de Jager is a Chartered Accountant who has held senior roles in the mining industry for more than 20 years, including as chief financial officer and executive management roles of several listed and non-listed companies in South Africa and Australia. Recently appointed commercial manager Ben Cohen will also become joint company secretary.
Cazaly Resources has appointed Tara French as chief executive and managing director. Ms French will initially be engaged as a chief executive, commencing in early July, before transitioning to managing director following the successful completion of a 3-month handover period. Nathan McMahon will continue in the managing director’s role in the interim. Ms French is a geologist with 24 years of mining and exploration experience, predominantly in Western Australia. She had contributed to the discovery of the 2Moz Garden Well gold deposit during her 14-year tenure at Regis Resources.
Rod Sherwood has resigned as chief executive and executive director of CV Check after almost ten years with the company, including four and a half years as chief executive. Current independent chair Ivan Gustavino will be acting as executive chair whilst the company searches for a replacement chief executive.
Magnum Mining & Exploration has appointed non-executive director Dano Chan as managing director. Mr Chan joined the company a week ago on 12 April. His appointment is a key step in driving the company’s revised strategy to become a US-focused domestic producer of value-added and environmentally friendly steelmaking raw materials. Mr Chan is undertaking a review of appropriate ‘green steel’ processing technologies available to the company, including due diligence on technology partners.
Newfield Resources has appointed Peter Evans as an independent non-executive director, following the retirement of Anthony Ho from the board. Mr Evans has over 40 years of corporate finance, stockbroking and investment banking experience across many business sectors including extensive experience in the Australian and global equity capital markets. Mr Ho, a founding director since its ASX listing in 2012, will continue in a consulting capacity.
Sprintex has made some changes to its board structure following the reinstatement of its securities to quotation on the ASX. Non-executive chair Richard Siemens, non-executive deputy chair David White, Michael Wilson, Richard O'Brien and Raymond Lau have all resigned from the board. The company has appointed Wayne Knight as non-executive chair, Jay Upton as managing director, Li Chen and Steven Apedaile as non-executive directors.
Vortiv has appointed Simon Vertullo and Jason Titman as non-executive directors, and Howard Digby has resigned from the board. Mr Vertullo is an experienced board director & consultant who has provided strategic leadership for managing performance, transactions, risk and turnarounds. Mr Titman is a boutique investor with extensive experience as an advisory board member, and often takes an executive or board role to fast track the scale-up of the companies he invests in.
Former senior EY global renewables partner Josephine Bush has joined the board of Vulcan Energy Resources as non-executive director. Ms Bush is a Chartered Tax Advisor with extensive experience in ESG strategic advisory and execution through her years working in the renewables and green sector across multiple jurisdictions.
