Landmark move follows landmark deal
Mining and resources are set to be the engine room driving WA’s recovery from COVID-19 and leading industry suppliers are gearing up.
Rod White joined Cranecorp Australia in 2018 as chief executive. He is the principal of Hagan White Birch, strategy consultants to the resources sector, and chair of Tailor Made Spirits Company. His career included 20 years working for Shell in London, Chicago, Kuala Lumpur and Australia, where he held the positions of global vice president of Shell Services, and chief operating officer of Shell Services International. Mr White was also an executive general manager of Leighton Services and Sedgman, and has worked on a range of diverse strategy projects including the disaggregation of Western Power. He has a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Mining Engineering, and received an Order of Merit as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Private investment group Viburnum Funds has acquired a majority shareholding in Henderson-based Cranecorp Australia in a deal believed to be worth about $50 million.
Cranecorp and Tutt Bryant are forming a joint venture to provide clients access to a larger supply of cranes, heavy and lifting and transportation equipment.
Resources companies need workers, while the state has the most job vacancies since 2012.
