Former mutual and listed banking executive Greg Wall AM was the chief executive of motoring industry cooperative Capricorn Society, managing director of the Home Building Society from 2006 to 2008 prior to its sale to Bank of Queensland, and chief executive of Statewest Credit Society when it demutualised and merged with the ASX-listed Home Building Society.
Mr Wall had taken on a portfolio of non-executive director positions including at Automotive Holdings Group (2005-2012), chairing the Canci family's logistics company Freo Group (2009-2012), and the Western Australian Football Commission (2009-2013). He was also a director of Fremantle Football Club (2001-2006) and state manager of Westpac subsidiary Challenge Bank (1995-2000). Mr Wall was also chair of the International Year of Cooperatives Secretariat and chair of the Business Councils of Mutuals and Cooperatives in Australia, created to promote the cooperative business model nationally.
He holds a Master of Arts Future Studies, is a Fellow of Australian Institute of Company Directors and FINSIA, and also attended the CEO Institute at Berkeley and Cornell Universities in the USA.
In 2019, Mr Wall was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to business, and to the community.
