Benjamin Chow AO is a distinguished Australian citizen who was born and educated in China, emigrating to Australia in 1962. He chaired the Council for Multicultural Australia which assists the Australian Government to implement its multicultural policies.
Mr Chow has previously served as President of Australian Chinese Community Association of NSW, President of Chinese Australian Forum of NSW, and Vice-president of the Ethnic Communities Council of NSW. He is a past member of the Council of National Museum of Australia, a member of the Bond University Council, president of Sydney University Nerve Research Foundation, a trustee and past chair of Australian Chinese Charity Foundation, and a director of Chain Reaction Foundation.
Mr Chow was awarded a Centenary Medal in 2001 and made an Officer of the Order of Australia in 2007 for services to inter-cultural activities in Australia and to the Chinese community.
