Alan Carpenter
Alan Carpenter joined Wesfarmers as executive general manager, corporate affairs, in December 2009. Prior to that he served as the 28th premier of Western Australia from January 2006 to September 2008 and served 13 years in the Western Australian parliament.
During his time in parliament he served as: state development and trade minister; energy, science and innovation minister; education and training minister; indigenous affairs minister, federal affairs minister; public sector management minister; and sport and recreation minister.
Originally from Albany, Mr Carpenter has an Arts degree majoring in politics, from The University of Western Australia, and worked as a journalist before entering politics for the Labor party.
