Aaron Hood is an investment banker. He invested across a range of industries in Australia and New Zealand with a focus on the retail, manufacturing and mining sectors.
Mr Hood was appointed chief executive of Wesfarmers Chemicals Energy & Fertilisers in late 2024, having previously served as chief financial officer since 2019. He joined Wesfarmers in 2017 as general manager of business development. Mr Hoods was the interim executive general manager of Business Development from July 2022 to February 2023. Mr Hood started his career with Macquarie Bank in Sydney before moving into the private equity industry and leading investments for a prominent Australian family office. In 2016 he moved to Melbourne as director of corporate finance at EMR Capital, a specialist resources private equity manager focusing on the metals & mining sector. Prior to that, he established the WA office of private equity group Catalyst and represented the investments of the Forrest family's Minderoo Group, including as director on various private and listed boards.
Mr Hood holds Mechanical Engineering (Honours) and Commerce degrees from The University of Western Australia and completed his Master of Business Administration at INSEAD.
