Mining royalties a black and white issue
Mining royalties paid to all Aboriginal groups in WA are less than half the amount paid to four wealthy families, new research has found.
Wright Prospecting is a private Perth-based company controlled by descendants of mining entrepreneur Peter Wright, the business partner of the late Lang Hancock. Its shareholders are AMB Holdings (representing the interests of Peter's daughter, Angela Bennett, and VOC Group, an entity created by Peter's late son, Michael Wright. Its main revenue is iron ore royalties paid by Rio Tinto.
