When the Toll business came into being in 1888, it was as a horse and cart haulage concern. Today, Toll Holdings provides integrated logistics operating out of the Asia Pacific region, with a global reach. It generates annual revenue in excess of A$8.8 billion, and employs approximately 40,000 people over a network of 1,200 sites in more than 50 countries.
On 18 February 2015, Toll's Board accepted a proposal from Japan Post to acquire all of Toll's shares by way of a scheme of arrangement.
